The key to being pain free from IBS is to eliminate certain foods for a few weeks and see how you feel. By not eliminating these 5 IBS trigger foods; you will continue to feel pain, discomfort, bloating and irregular bowel movements. Keeping a food diary of what you ate and how you felt after each meal will help you to assimilate what are your IBS triggers foods. Try caring around a small notebook in your pocket book or brief case with you to use as your food diary.

1. Dairy
For starter's dairy is the top food that you should start eliminating. Often time's diary causes extreme cramping and loose bowel movements. If you use cows milk daily then try using a soy or goats milk and see how you feel after eliminating dairy for a few weeks.
2. Sugar
Sugar is one of the worst things for IBS. It strips the body of nutrients in order to process it. Try avoiding white table sugar for a few weeks and see how you are feeling. Try a more natural form of sugar in your teas or snacks, like agave nectar or stevia.
3. White Flour
White flour has no nutritional value to IBS suffers; there is very little if any fiber in white flour. Often time white flour can cause constipation due its low fiber and binding quality. Try replacing all white flour with a natural multi-grain for a few weeks and see how you feel.

5. Artificial Sweeteners
Artificial sweeteners often times cause extreme cramping followed by loose bowel movements. If you use any of the artificial sweeteners get rid of them, and replace it with natural sweeteners from your local health food store.
